Description
Oil / solvent based long term corrosion preventive

Cimguard 40 is a premium quality oil/solvent-based, in & outdoor corrosion preventative for ferrous and non-ferrous metals. It is designed to deposit a soft, oily, water-repellent film, which is removable by solvent (vapour degreasing) or aqueous alkaline cleaner.

Application
Depending on the conditions of application, Cimguard 40 will provide up to 18 months outdoor corrosion protection (assuming primary protection from the elements) when used as received. Cimguard 40 may be applied by immersion, airless spray, or brush methods. When practical, total immersion is preferred since it ensures complete coverage. Cimguard 40 is an ideal choice for:

• Outdoor storage of finished parts or raw stock.
• Steel mills or foundries.
• Coating parts to be shipped overseas.
• Any situation requiring long-term metal corrosion prevention.
• Coating internal or inter-connecting parts that are subjected to metal-to-metal wear.

Cimguard 40 can be diluted for greater economy with either mineral oil-based solvents such as white spirits or with light oils, but the period of protection will be reduced according to the degree of dilution. After application, the solvent should be allowed to fully evaporate before the parts are handled, packaged, or stored. The drying period will be further reduced at higher temperatures and with enhanced air circulation. Cimguard 40 is not a dewatering fluid, so when applying Cimguard 40 to wet surfaces be sure to remove entrapped water from holes, crevices, or other cavities.
